name: ihopethepeopleyoumeetinmyabsencetreatyouwell formed: 2023 status: active genre: bedroom skramz socials: instagram , spotify , bandcamp ihopethepeopleyoumeetinmyabsencetreatyouwell is a lo-fi screamo band consisting of members alex johnson on drums and kris kivisto (of in summer of 2019 i dreamed of everything i have now and  couldn't be more disappointed) on vocals and guitar, from fort mc murrray, alberta. god this music is just,,,, so depressing. but while it may be extremely emotionally intense, the just pure energy on this is unmatched. they're not THAT active of a band, mostly sticking to doing digital releases, but they have played a few shows and did a run of tapes with bsdj. (which are still up on milkcrate so get them while u still can!!) another fun fact, according to the band their first album was entirely improvised, which i find insanely cool if true. this is definitely some of the saddest music i know. but, if you think you can handle it, this can also be...

name: moshimoshi formed: 2020 genre: midwest screamo/emocore status: active socials: instagram , bandcamp , spotify , facebook moshimoshi is an emocore band from helsinki, finland. the best way i can describe this band is "cap'n jazz if they were math rock with hardcore vocals, and 30 times more intense." amazing energy, killer riffs, great vocals, the whole package. they take their name from the informal telephone greeting in japanese, translating to "i speak, i speak". someone i know actually played a show with them once, which i find really cool! that person actually put me onto this band too lmao. anyways, enjoy! discog moshimoshi I  (2021) 1. name: Leon's Getting Larger formed: 2022 genre: midwest emo/emogaze status: active socials: instagram , bandcamp , spotify ,  youtube , facebook leon's getting larger (taking their name from the 1980 comedy film "Airplane!") is a midwest emo band from winnipeg, manitoba. a great band with an extremely small discog, i found leon's getting larger through going to a show they were playing at and holy shit. the energy through their set was absolutely insane, possibly one of my favourite sets ever. their production quality isn't great, but they make up for it with killer hooks and a great sound. they are 100% my favorite winnipeg emo band, ever. enjoy! discog Or Something (2023) 1.   name: upnow! formed: 2023 genre: acoustic emo/experimental emo status: active socials/streaming: instagram , bandcamp , spotify YEAHHH 3 in a row!! next one is gonna have a ton of shit in it so i'm gonna take a bit longer but anyways, upnow! is a weird ass emo project by logan baker of commiserate, and they're from pheonix, arizona. man do they cover a shit ton of genres, their demo ALONE has screamo, midwest emo, experimental noise, lo-fi acoustic, and even more. it's such a unique project that really doesn't compare at all to any band in the scene, like ever. they don't have much out either, just some demos and a vs self cover they contributed to a comp for palestine. speaking of vs self, they actually just went on tour with them, knumears, and party hats which has boosted their listener count by a ton. anyways, make sure to check this project out, it's great. discog am i emo?   name: bedtime stories (originally known as "bedtime stories the band") formed: 2022 genre: emo/post hardcore status: innactive (on hiatus since 2024) socials/streaming: bandcamp , instagram , spotify , tiktok , youtube bedtime stories were an emo band from waco, texas. they're currently (as of writing this) finishing up an album to release soon, which i am very excited for! their sound has elements from noise rock, hardcore punk, post hardcore and screamo, but they still manage to pack in that classic "emo" sound. the band has 3 members, ethan on lead vox and guitar, isaac on bass and backup vox, and carter on drums and backup vox. their debut single "bedframe" has been taken off of streaming completely, (for pretty obvious reaons) and was hell to find a rip of, but i (with the help of my online besties) did it! me and a few friends actually run a fan discord server for this band, so if you end up liking the music and wanna talk abt it u can join her...
